Four Reasons You Don’t Want to Miss Our Annual Luncheon

Our Annual Luncheon is already one of the San Francisco Bay Area’s biggest nonprofit fundraising events, bringing together over 1,500 people in person and hundreds more online, and once again we find there is even more interest in attending than last year.

Thanks to community feedback, we have a pretty good idea of the reasons why this event keeps growing. We thought we’d share a few to get you excited to join us on November 15.

There’s Never Been a Better Time to Attend than Now

Indigenous peoples of the Mayan culture have been waiting for 2012 since their civilization emerged 4,000 years ago. They say this is humankind’s turning point, our transition year, our moment of re-birth, an idea that is mirrored in the Eagle and Condor prophecy held by a number of our indigenous partners.

Our Annual Luncheon has always been a time to celebrate partnership between the indigenous and modern worlds. As a new threat emerges in the Amazon rainforest, the world needs people who will take action guided by both our hearts and our minds more than ever.

You Will Have Fun

Creating a new way of life can be challenging, but like any creative endeavor, it will also be a lot of fun. Especially when you have passionate, talented co-creators you can count on as allies.

Our Annual Luncheon is the perfect place to connect with new and old friends who share your vision and values. And that goes for online guests, too–whether you choose to host a Luncheon viewing party or add your comments to the lively conversation on the event page!

You Will Leave Inspired

Every year, the Luncheon stage is filled with inspiring speakers, who have included:

  • Courageous indigenous leaders from the Amazon
  • Our co-founders Lynne and Bill Twist and John Perkins
  • Special guest speakers like Van Jones, Paul Hawken, and Dan Wieden of Wieden + Kennedy, the global advertising firm behind Nike’s “Just Do It” campaign

During his time onstage at the Luncheon in 2008, Paul Hawken declared: “I think [The Pachamama Alliance] is the most important single NGO in the world right now, because it’s changing the one thing that can change everything… our minds and our hearts.”

The Number One Reason to Join Us on November 15

Of course, that kind of transformation in people’s minds and hearts is something we don’t do alone–our community makes it possible with the way they stand for a conscious, committed way of life wherever they are.

Maybe you don’t need more fun in your life, or prophecies about 2012 don’t resonate with you. Come join us on November 15th anyway, for one reason: to inspire yourself with what is possible because you are alive at this moment.
