In August, Nitin Das and Dawn Mikkelson, Grand Prize Winners in the Possible Futures Film Contest, joined Pachamama co-founders Lynne and Bill Twist on a Rainforest Journey.

Both Nitin and Dawn received a cash prize as well as a trip for two to the rainforest. Our intent was to spark the Contest winners’ imaginations with the once-in-a-lifetime experience of a Rainforest Journey, and it appears this happened.

Capturing the Journey: “Dream Readers of the Amazon”

Nitin, who used part of his cash prize to send 50 solar lamps to the village where he shot his winning film, has created a new short film featuring incredible footage of Ecuador, the rainforest, and the Achuar.

Between the words and the images, this film captures the moving experience of a Journey. Please share widely with anyone you think would enjoy it!

Film Contest Award “Just the Beginning”

As Dawn put it after returning from Ecuador, "Never before have I had such a life-altering travel experience as the one I had with the Pachamama Alliance in Ecuador.

“Unlike most film contests, this award’s prestige and laurels are just the beginning of its impact on a filmmaker and their career... I can’t put into words how my worldview and life have changed.

“Thank you to all who are involved in The Pachamama Alliance, Fundación Pachamama, FOUR YEARS. GO., Awakening the Dreamer, and the Possible Futures Film Contest for becoming a part of my life and strengthening my resolve to use film as a source of inspiration and global change."
