In our March Change Agent Newsletter, we gave you “A Sneak Peek into A New Action Strategy for the Pachamama Community.”
We have continued to energetically work on this new action strategy in the past months and are excited to finally be able to pilot-test some of the programs it encompasses.
We are especially excited to tell you that, after much deliberation and debate, we have given this strategy a name we feel communicates the responsibility we each must take as we join together in steering the course of humanity toward the future we truly wish to have.
So, without further ado, allow us to introduce you to our Up to Us Educational Initiative.
About Up to Us:
Up to Us comprises a number of new education programs designed to take participants on a transformative journey, preparing and inspiring them to become effective change agents for a positive future.
The purpose of Up to Us is to generate a critical mass of conscious committed global citizens engaged in sustained collective action that transforms the social systems and structures standing in the way of a sustainable, just, and fulfilling world for all.
Up to Us expands on the experience Awakening the Dreamer Symposium participants have by offering different programs and opportunities for participants. These programs and opportunities include:
- A What’s Next Meeting (optional but highly recommended).
- A transformational 8-module Online Course focused on increasing our knowledge and embodiment of global citizenship and readiness for game changing action
- Opportunity to get involved in Movements through our ally partner organizations, Move to Amend and Citizens Climate Lobby, with the first two initiatives focusing on representative democracy and climate change.
- The opportunity to create or join an Action Circle.
- The opportunity to become a Symposium Facilitator.
Specific intended results of these offerings are:
1) To inspire and galvanize a critical mass of conscious, committed human beings who are:
- Committed to a new story for humanity that values connection and cooperation consistent with a vision of an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling, socially just human presence on this planet;
- Who are mobilized to transform human systems and structures that oppress and separate us;
- And/or who create new forms of human society consistent with the vision.
2) To take an active role in mobilizing citizens in support of initiatives that will achieve a breakthrough in establishing governing systems truly Of, By and For The People.
- 1st US Goal — Amendment to the US Constitution that strips away the unintended privileges and rights now held by corporations and concentrated pools of money and power and elevates the rights of people, communities and nature.
3) To take an active role in mobilizing citizens in support of initiatives that will achieve a breakthrough in both citizens’ and governments’ involvement with the issues of Global Warming.
- 1st US Goal — Legislation in the US Congress creating a price on carbon emissions.
