Every April 22 for the last 40 years, individuals and organizations from around the world have been inspired to demonstrate and celebrate their commitment to environmental protection and sustainability.

This year, Earth Day proved to be an opportunity for the Awakening the Dreamer message to be heard around the world:

A 2-hour version of the Symposium was delivered to employees of a Fortune 50 company - a defense contractor no less! It was offered in-person and streamed live online for all staff, including the executive team.

Symposiums were offered in:

  • Hong Kong, China
  • Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan
  • Asheville, North Carolina
  • Mumbai, India
  • Brooklyn, New York

At San Francisco’s Earth Day Festival, Awakening the Dreamer was well represented as part of The Pachamama Alliance with a booth and 3 stage appearances.

50 members of Seattle’s Awakening the Dreamer community participated in a powerful WakeUp on the eve of Earth Day and planned their next steps for collective action, including a week-long WakeUp facilitator training in August 2011!

We hope, one day, that every day is Earth Day. For now, the global Awakening the Dreamer community will keep working to spread the message of bringing forth a sustainable, just and fulfilling future.
