In the middle of May, we launched a campaign to expand and deepen the Global Citizen monthly donor community, raising $2,500 in new monthly donation revenue by July 4th.

This additional $30,000 in annual revenue would allow us to make long-term commitments to our indigenous partners as they forward alternatives to oil drilling in Ecuador, as well as to the network of volunteer Facilitators taking our workshops to new parts of the world.

Many New Partners Around the World

With nearly 70 new Global Citizen monthly donors and increased commitments from current Global Citizens, we surpassed our goal of raising an additional $30,000 in monthly contributions per year from the campaign! In addition, nearly $3,000 in one time gifts was raised.

The Global Citizens who signed up truly came from around the world, with new monthly donors from:

  • Australia
  • Belgium
  • Brazil
  • Canada
  • Denmark
  • France
  • Germany
  • Ireland
  • The Netherlands
  • Sweden
  • Switzerland
  • United Arab Emirates

More Than Money

But the campaign was about more than money–it was also about celebrating the collective impact and partnership of Global Citizens.

We launched a page on our website to showcase current Global Citizen donors and their stories on why monthly giving is important to them.

In addition, co-founder Bill Twist held a special conference call for Global Citizens on the current status of the 11th round of oil concessions in Ecuador and our response.

Thank You!

We thank everyone who participated in this effort, whether by becoming a Global Citizen monthly donor, increasing their current monthly gift, making a one-time gift, asking their friends and family to contribute, or by sharing this effort on social media.

By reallocating our resources and putting our money where our hearts are, we can forge a true partnership with each other and with our indigenous partners to bring forth a just, sustainable, and thriving human presence on this planet.
