In January, we informed you, our Pachamama Alliance family, that it was the time for The Pachamama Alliance (TPA) to move to a whole new level to meet the paramount challenges and opportunities that face humanity in the critical window of the next few years. At that time, we recognized the need to restructure the organization to empower the Alliance to take the bold next steps needed to fulfill on the strategies and vision. Tammy White was named Interim Executive Director as we embarked on a process to clarify our needs going forward. Tammy is a huge asset to TPA, and guided us to the point where we can clearly see the next steps in our own evolution. Now, Tammy is completing her time as Interim Executive Director, and will go back on the Board of The Pachamama Alliance. She remains an outspoken advocate for the organization and a Stewardship Circle member.

We are thrilled to announce that Bill Twist has shifted his role with TPA to serve as full-time Chief Executive Officer.  By doing so, Bill is bringing his visionary leadership as a key advisor and creator of all the major programs of the organization, to the role of being engaged on a daily basis and accountable for seeing those plans through into action.

Bill’s vision has been the guiding force of TPA since the very beginning, as co-Founder and Board Chairman. His deep thinking was the source of the Awakening the Dreamer Symposium and Initiative, which is now flourishing in 40 countries, and the FOUR YEARS. GO. campaign, which is growing daily across the globe. He has skillfully guided the work in Ecuador, through Fundacion Pachamama. He was instrumental in introducing the concept of Rights for Nature, which is now written into the constitution of the country of Ecuador.

As Bill takes on the role of CEO, he has stepped down from the Board of The Pachamama Alliance. We are honored to have Gordon Starr fill the role of Chairman of the Board. Gordon has been involved with The Pachamama Alliance since the very beginning, having participated in one of our very first journeys to Ecuador, in 1996. Gordon has been instrumental in coaching and guiding the organization with his deep expertise in organizational transformation, and has brought invaluable insight into how to engage high-leverage corporations in the work of TPA.

Bill’s vision and engagement as the co-Founder of TPA are enormous assets to his new role of Chief Executive Officer, wedding his vision with implementation. Gordon’s skills in leadership coaching and his business background are ideal assets for Chairman of the organization moving forward. TPA extends its sincere gratitude to Tammy White for the interim role she played that made this leadership transition possible.
