One of the most inspiring stories we've heard this year comes from Barbados, where a small group of visionary women are imagining a whole new future for the island.

Back at the beginning of the year, Prue Rankin-Smith, a UK trained facilitator, visited the island and decided to run a Symposium for a small group. Three of the recipients were so inspired at the event that they immediately leapt in action.

An Unstoppable Team with a Big Vision

This action is manifested in the creation of Be the Change Barbados: a nonprofit volunteer-run organization committed to turning the tide of the future, building resiliency and connection as we create an spiritually fulfilling, socially just, and environmentally sustainable future.

We wanted to share their newsletter with you to highlight the breadth of ambition and depth of heart that is now in action for the island, prepared to confront a full range of issues such as wealth inequality, the legacy of colonialism and slavery, and environmental threats.

The unstoppable team of Christy Punnett, Gay Taaffe, and Sharen Carmichael have also created a series of events in November 2012 to gather more organizations into their vision, to train themselves and others as leaders in this work (remember all of this has happened before any of them have even been to a Facilitator Training), and to make plans for the island and, beyond that, the region.

So, read on and be inspired!
