November 11th, 2011 (11-11-11) was World Day of Interconnectedness and facilitators across the globe joined forces to host 10 symposiums at the same time. Read facilitator Leo Sonneveld's experience below:

It was incredibly uplifting to know that on this third World Day of Interconnectedness, the symposium was being facilitated in 10 countries: New Zealand, Australia, Israel, Sweden, Germany, Netherlands, UK, South Africa, Mexico and the US. We received very warm and positive reactions, and Israel wanted to offer 4 symposiums!

The Netherlands Symposium

Participants in our symposium were very enthusiastic and Nanke and I felt the joy of being connected in all facilitators’ endeavors to contribute to an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling and socially just world - a purpose we carry in our hearts.

Although we offered the symposium on the previous World Days of Interconnectedness on 9-9-9 and 10-10-10 in four and three hour versions, this year was the first time that we used a 90 minute time slot. Yet within this short time frame we succeeded to go through all core questions and key videos and ended by connecting the insights and outcomes with participant's personal dreams for the world.

In fact, the way we have celebrated interconnectedness in Amsterdam was quite impressive. Under the name "Mirror of Love" we had a program from 11am to 11:30 pm with five rounds of 90 minute workshops. Altogether, the workshops totaled 33 activities offering a unique opportunity to experience very diverse and high quality avenues to (more) interconnectedness (awareness).

Participation was free of charge because every workshop leader offered his or her treasure for free as was the availability of the center! The atmosphere was awesome.

Save the Date for 2012

We hope that you, facilitators in all countries, will save the date for the next Interconnectedness Symposium Rally: 12-12-12. By that date the number of countries with trained facilitators will probably have reached a stunning peak of 120 especially because of a partnership with Brahma Kumaris Spiritual University!

For me personally, it's been a peak experience with so much love, connection, understanding, compliments, respect and joy! In measurable terms on a macro level it has also been a peak experience. In the first 11 days of November the central website has been visited by 35,209 unique visitors (of which 11,293 on 11-11-11 alone) from 156 countries generating together 1.26 million hits!

What makes me even more happy is that we have identified and published activities and events with a stunning diversity, contributing to an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling and socially just human presence, in all countries worldwide! When we realize ourselves that this is merely a glimpse of what has actually happened on 11-11-11 globally, it fills me with a level of gratitude that I can hardly describe. The new world is here!

With love and gratitude, Leo Sonneveld
